About Paul Linford

Paul Linford is an experienced political writer and blogger now based in Derbyshire, UK. Between 1995 and 2004 he worked as a parliamentary lobby journalist at Westminster, covering national politics at the height of the Blair years for the South Wales Echo and The Journal, Newcastle. After leaving the lobby to work in digital publishing, he launched an eponymous blog which regularly featured in Iain's annual league table of the top 20 political blogs for the first few years of its existence and was particularly renowned for its commentaries on Labour Party matters. He also contributed to the annual Guides to Political Blogging from 2007-2009, to the Little Red Book of New Labour Sleaze, and to Total Politics magazine where he wrote the Where Are They Now column focusing on the post-Westminster careers of former MPs.’

In addition to his current 'day job' as editor/publisher of the journalism website, HoldtheFrontPage.co.uk, he continues to write a weekly political column for his old paper, The Journal. Married with two children aged seven and four, he lives in the historic Derbyshire mill town of Belper where his interests include DIY, gardening, beer and country walks.
