Duncan Barkes thinks that at dark times, the British create great music and we need it.
Read moreDuncan Barkes is a broadcaster, commentator, journalist and media consultant. With a solid background in talk radio, he has presented and produced topical interactive radio shows nationally on talkSPORT, and regionally on LBC 97.3 in London and City Talk 105.9 in Liverpool. The latter saw him present the mid morning show and then the flagship breakfast show in one of the most gritty and vibrant cities in Europe. Despite being Sussex born and bred, he quickly earned the tag of ‘adopted scouser’.
He firmly believes that talk radio is the voice of the silent majority where real people have their say on what really matters to them. This is far more important than the latest crumb of political policy or the musings of a politician.
Away from the microphone he has run radio stations, press offices and acted as a spokesperson and strategist for a number of campaigning organisations. Thousands of column inches have poured from his keyboard on a wide variety of topics. He’s Eurosceptic; a lover of pubs, jazz, classic rock, 80s indie music, cigars, Liverpool, real ale, red wine, the sea and windmills. He also believes more men should sport double cuffs, cufflinks and hats to make the world more civilised.
